Indoor Tanning Tips

New to tanning?

Don’t rush your tan.  Start slowly and gradually increase your indoor tanning time.  A beautiful, healthy tan is worth it.  Our tanning consultant Tamera can help you get started on a tanning regimen that will make you look and feel amazing!

Do tanning lotions really help?

Yes!  Tanning lotions can increase your results by 60%.  They help to achieve quicker results and extend the life of your tan.  They add moisture & nutrients back into the skin while tanning and prevent your skin from burning, resulting in a deeper, darker longer lasting tan!

Switch up your lotion.

We know you love your favorite tanning lotion but it's important that you switch it up!  Our skin gets used to certain ingredients which means your lotion may lose its effectiveness over time.  Try alternating between Accelerators & Bronzers!  We have many different types and price points to fit your needs.

Make sure to use the fans!

A cooler bed will result in a better tan Turn the fans UP to enhance your tan and make it last longer by sweating less and keeping more tanning lotion on your body!  Plus, the cooler air oxygenates your melanin faster.

Alternate between Lay Down & Stand Up Beds to avoid pressure point marks.

Pressure points marks are created when lying down.  This prevents the UV rays from being fully absorbed by the skin and can create small spots or creases.  Switching up positions in the bed helps too!

Don’t get wet after tanning.

Your skin is still tanning 3-4 hours after your sunbed session ends.  For long lasting results, do not shower or swim for up to 4 hours after.  When you do, make sure you keep your skin moisturized to keep your skin soft and hydrated.

Indoor tanning during hot weather.

Make sure you have eaten before you use a sunbed and drink plenty of water before and after.  Slightly reduce your minutes to avoid overheating.  Do not sunbathe and use a sunbed in the same day to avoid burning and overexposure.

Always wear eye protection.

Just closing your eyes is not enough to prevent damage to your eyes during your tanning session.  Make sure you use the complimentary peepers provided.

EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE!

Dry skin tends to absorb more tanning lotion, which is why people with dry skin often have darker and uneven patches of tan on their skin.  For an even tanned glow all over, you need to make sure that you exfoliate regularly before your sunbed sessions.

MOISTURIZE!

To keep your tan long lasting and have healthy looking skin that glows, you need to MOISTURIZE!  After you tan MOISTURIZE, after you shower MOISTURIZE.  Dry skin doesn’t hold a tan as well as moisturized skin does.  It’s important not to forget to MOISTURIZE :)

Tan from the inside.

Beta-carotene and vitamin E-rich foods contain everything you need to enhance your golden complexion: melon, carrots and tomatoes are all good examples.

Please use only indoor tanning lotions in our sunbeds.

These lotions damage our expensive acrylics.  They are not made for indoor tanning and will do more harm then good to your skin.

ALWAYS DRINK PLENTY OF WATER!!  JUST FOR LIFE :)
